§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his most recent estimate of the cost of, (a) the Thames flood barrier and (b) the associated wall raising; and when he expects each to be completed.
§ r. Wigginthe June 1980 estimates were:
- (a) Thames barrier £409.5 million.
- (b) Other defence works £267.8 million.
The barrier is expected to become operational by December 1982 and the majority of bank-raising schemes and other associated works should also have been completed by that date.
