Agreements were concluded in 1972 between the Community and individual member countries of the EFTA which are available in the House of Commons Library. Broadly speaking, these agreements provide for duty-free trade in industrial goods, which with few exceptions already exists. The remaining duties on these goods will be phased out not later than 1 January 1985. Certain processed agricultural products are subject to preferential tariff rates.
