§ The Earl of AVONDay to day enforcement of the regulations affecting vehicle noise is a matter for the police, which, in the County of Avon, is the Avon and Somerset Police Authority. The Department of Transport's vehicle examiners may also cover noise in spot checks of heavy goods vehicles; and silencer and exhaust systems are checked in the annual tests of cars and motorcycles over three years old and of all heavy goods vehicles.
