No extra staff have been required by my Department to deal with the implementation of the Tenants Rights Etc. (Scotland) Act.
No houses will yet have been sold under the statutory right to buy. The table following shows the latest available information on the number of voluntary sales concluded by local authorities under the terms of the general consent issued in May 1979 in respect of the period May 1979 to 1 August 1980, in the form requested. There have also been substantial sales by the Scottish Special Housing Association and the new towns.
