§ Mr. Campbell-Savoursasked the Minister of Transport if he will suspend the vehicle operators' licence of Autocars Julia pending a British inquiry into the company's commercial operations as they affect the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. FowlerThe French authorities are to hold a judicial inquiry into the recent accident and I shall study their report carefully. In the meantime, I do not think a separate British inquiry is needed. I have now received assurances from Autocars Julia that its coaches on the Barcelona-London service will be operated in accordance with the international rules governing drivers' hours and records.
My Department will keep in close touch with the Spanish authorities so that we 457W can both ensure these undertakings are adhered to.
