§ Mr. Michael Brownasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what sanctions could be applied against the United Kingdom if it continued to enforce restrictions on the employment and permanent settlement of migrant workers after the period permitted under paragraph 16 (2) (a) of the International Labour conference's recommendation (86) concerning migration for employment, as revised in 1949.
§ Mr. RaisonThere are no specific sanctions, but the Government consider that they have an obligation to comply with the terms of the recommendation which they have accepted.
