§ Sir George YoungMy right hon. Friend hopes to introduce legislation shortly to remove the duty on local authorities to establish children's regional planning committees, contained in the Children and Young Persons Act 1969. Implementation of the proposals contained in the recent White Paper on young offenders will require the repeal of section 7(3) of the 1969 Act and the amendment of other sections.
