§ Mr. Brightasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is satisfied that the members of water authorities appointed under the Water Act 1973 give adequate protection to the interests of consumers.
§ Mr. FoxThe system of appointing local authority members to water authorities provides an opportunity for local consumer views to be represented. The adequacy of these arrangements will be considered in connection with a review of consumer bodies for nationalised industries generally.
