§ Mr. Michael Spicerasked the Lord Privy Seal what response Her Majesty's Government are making to the latest United Nations appeal for humanitarian assistance for Cambodia.
§ Mr. Neil MartenI am glad to inform the House that we propose, subject to parliamentary approval, to make a further contribution of £1 million to the work of UNICEF and ICRC. We have also responded through the European Community which has agreed to contribute 20 million Eua of financial assistance plus rice to the value of 3.5 million Eua388W at current world prices. The United Kingdom share of this Community response—equivalent to about £14.4 million—will be approximately £3 million. Provision will be sought in the Summer Supplementary Estimate.
