HC Deb 21 May 1980 vol 985 c258W
Mr. Anthony Grant

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the number and size in square feet of the buildings under the responsibility of the Property Services Agency; and what proportion of them is cleaned by (a) direct labour and (b) private contractors.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

At April 1980 the Property Services Agency was responsible for a total of 132,677,990 sq. ft. comprising 9,049 holdings, offices, storage and miscellaneous. These figures relate only to the civil estate and to accommodation held in the name of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State. User Departments are responsible for their own domestic cleaning arrangements and information is not available within the agency.
