§ Sir Bernard Braineasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the policy of his Department in regard to advertisements by pregnancy advisory bureaux which are open to the interpretation that abortion can be had on demand.
§ Dr. VaughanPregnancy advice bureaux registered by the Department are required as a condition of registration to submit advertisements for approval. It is the Department's policy that, while advertisments may include reference to the availability of abortion advice and counselling, they should not suggest that an abortion can be arranged automatically.
