Clwyd 98.7 Dyfed 97.5 Gwent 109.6 Gwynedd 86.6 Mid Glamorgan 100.4 Powys 94.3 South Glamorgan 70.0 West Glamorgan 70.9 Because of the change in county boundaries as a result of local government reorganisation it is not possible to provide comparative figures for 1971.
The number of places per 100,000 population in Wales at 31 March 1979 was 91.8. This compares with 57.2 at 31 December 1970. The 1971 White Paper specified 150 places as the objective to be attained over a period of 15 or 20 years.
