§ Mr. WigginThe total grant-in-aid drawn into the forestry fund from the Exchequer between 1 April 1969 and 31 March 1979, the latest date for which figures are available, was £2004 million. Of this amount £151.7 million was allocated to the Forestry Enterprise, which manages the commission's woodlands, and £48.7 million to the Forestry Authority covering grants to private woodland owners, the administration of grant schemes, felling licensing and plant health, and a proportion of the commission's expenditure on research and development.
