HC Deb 24 March 1980 vol 981 cc426-7W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Lord Privy Seal whether or not he has refused permission to any Russian journalists to visit Northern Ireland in the last two months.

Mr. Blaker

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office informed a Soviet journalist on 14 March that it was not convenient at that time to provide interview facilities requested for a visit to Northern Ireland. We operate a travel notification scheme for Soviet journalists because of the severe restrictions imposed on the movements of British journalists in the Soviet Union.
