§ Mr. Alexander FletcherThe forecasting of energy demand is a specialised task which is undertaken for the United Kingdom as a whole by the Department of Energy. My Department analyses the implications for Scotland of the United Kingdom forecasts, and, in particular, examines closely the forecasts of electricity demand which underlie the Scottish electricity board's plans for new generating capacity.
