asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what statutory authority the police have to question a person awaiting the serving of an exclusion order in a police station later 389W than seven days after the time of his arrest.
§ Mr. Whitelaw
When an exclusion order is made, detention for 24 hours is allowed in order to make arrangements for removal. There will usually be no need for that period to be used for further questioning.
