HC Deb 24 March 1980 vol 981 cc448-9W
Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take steps to develop a computerised customs check aimed at preventing counterfeit British goods from being imported from countries which have no licence to manufacture; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Rees

I am satisfied that existing Customs controls are adequate to enforce the import prohibitions on goods bearing misleading or false markings.
