§ Mr. Michael MarshallIn the period in question, and since the restructuring of BLMC in 1975, the total amount of public funds received by BL, excluding small amounts of public funds committed under various schemes of assistance available to industry generally, is £950 million. BL has also benefited financially from the setting up of wholesale vehicle finance of which the National Enterprise Board is the major shareholder and to which a maximum of £25 million of public funds has been committed. On 20 December 1979 my right hon. Friend announced the Government's commitment to the provision of up to £300 million of additional funds to BL in 1980–81.
