Mr. Dalyellasked the Prime Minister, pursuant to her reply in the Official Report on 26 February, what specific action the Government are taking to work hard for a successful outcome to the second Nuclear Proliferation Treaty Review Conference to be held in August; and whether she will place on the agenda the issue of the export of potential nuclear weapon technology to Pakistan and Libya.
§ The Prime MinisterThe Government are engaged in discussions with a number of states about how best to ensure a successful review conference. A preparatory committee on which we are represented will draw up an agenda. This is expected to provide for discussion of all the Treaty's articles, including those concerning nuclear exports.
