asked the Secretary of State for Wales when he expects his Department to have completed the identification and classification of marginal lands in Wales: and if he will make a statement.

It is not possible to say precisely when our study of marginal land in Wales will be completed. I refer the hon. Member to the answer given by my center hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, on 1 February 1980 which indicated that we hope to complete the field work in England and Wales in 1981.—[Vol. 977, c. 785–6.]
