HC Deb 12 March 1980 vol 980 cc605-7W
Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what were the housing expenditure allocations for each local housing authority for 1974–75, 1975–76 1976–77, 1977–78, 1978–79, 1979–80, at 1979–80 outturn prices.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The allocation system did not come into operation until 1975–76. Thereafter there was no common basis between years in making the allocations, which covered a different range of housing activities in each year. Consequently it would not be possible, except at disproportionate cost, to bring them to a common and meaningful price basis.

Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what were the revised housing expenditure allocations for each local housing authority for 1979–80.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The final allocations made to local authorities are as follows:

Mr. Wyn Roberts

I refer the hon. Member to my reply to him on 14 January about the confidentiality of current housing investment programmes, and to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Flint, West (Sir A. Meyer) on 21 February which gave the allocations for 1980–81.—[Vol. 976, c.622; Vol. 979, c. 323–4.]

Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will publish a table showing the total expenditure on housing in Wales paid from his Department's budget at 1979–80 outturn prices, for each of the years from 1974, and showing his comparable projected expenditure for 1980–81 also at 1979–80 outturn price levels.
