The "Memorandum on Maternal Care by General Practitioners", which is published as part of the general practitioner's statement of fees and allowances, includes guidance on the provision of ante-natal care. The most recent revision was issued in April 1979. The contents are kept under review and amended, when necessary, on the advice of the Standing Medical and the Standing Nursing and Midwifery Advisory Committees.
