asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will recommend the establishment of an annual Queen's Award for the recycling industry.

No. Proposals for extending the scope of the Queen's Awards scheme have been considered in the past, but on each occasion the conclusion has been that the scheme should continue to be confined to outstanding achievements in the fields of export and technology.
