HC Deb 11 March 1980 vol 980 c537W
Mr. Gordon Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the dates when he has received housing plans from each local authority; and how long it took his Department in each case to process and approve the plans.

Mr. Rifkind

My Department does not formally approve housing plans but takes account of them in determining within the resources available the level of capital allocation to each authority for subsequent years. The 1979 housing plans were due to be submitted by the end of December 1979; they were received on the dates listed below. Final alloctions for 1980–81 were issued on 21 February; where the 1979 plans were not available the allocations took account of the evidence available to me in financial programmes and in the 1978 housing plans.

My Department will be in touch with authorities in due course about particular aspects of the plans.
