HL Deb 11 March 1980 vol 406 c1062WA
Lord SEFTON of GARSTON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they agree that it was a reasonable requirement of the last Labour Government that any productive unit of Inmos Limited should be set up in an assisted area, and if so what steps have they taken to insist on the same requirement.

The MINISTER of STATE, DEPARTMENT of INDUSTRY (Viscount Trenchard)

It is not for Her Majesty's Government to answer for any action the previous Administration may or may not have taken. The Government have received an application from the company for an industrial development certificate for its first production facility and are considering this.
