HC Deb 10 March 1980 vol 980 c455W
Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Minister of Transport how often trains carrying nuclear waste pass through East Flint.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I am informed that on average fewer than two flasks of irradiated nuclear fuel may pass through East Flint per week.

Mr. Dixon

asked the Minister of Transport when he intends to answer the letter from the hon. Member for Jarrow on the transport of nuclear waste dated 4 December 1979 and the subsequent letter of 13 February.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

I have written to the hon. Member. I apologise for the length of time it took to obtain the information necessary to write to the hon. Member in this case. I hope that the length and factual detail of the reply that I was finally able to send are some compensation for the unfortunate delay.
