§ Mr. David MitchellAll industrial sectors in the standard industrial classification orders III to XIX with the exception of order IV (coal and petroleum products) are being studied in the industrial energy thrift scheme.
The potential for energy conservation in these sectors is estimated from the findings of the studies to be 20 per cent. of current energy use. This figure includes savings achievable through good housekeeping, improved thermal insulation and controls, and potential improvements in processes based on existing technology.
