HC Deb 05 March 1980 vol 980 c214W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what consultations he has had regarding the Civil Aviation Authority's proposal to make denied boarding compensation mandatory; whether this represents preferred Government approach; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Tebbit

I have had no recent consultations with the Civil Aviation Authority on the subject of denied boarding compensation. The authority, in proposing a scheme, was acting upon a recommendation of the European Civil Aviation Conference in March last year. The United Kingdom supported this recommendation.
