HC Deb 05 March 1980 vol 980 c212W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Trade, pursuant to his reply to the hon. Member for Wolverhampton, North-East on 20 February, how many closures of consumer advice centres have been notified to him or of how many he is aware.

Mr. Eyre

Closure of consumer advice centres is a matter for the local authorities concerned and there is no obligation upon them to notify me of their decisions after 31 March 1980. But I am aware that decisions to close 40 out of a total of 120 centres have so far been taken.
