asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many additional redundancies in the construction industry he anticipates as a result of the reduction in housing investment programme allocations (a) in the Northern region and (b) in the United Kingdom.

This will depend on the level of activity of the whole house-building and house renovation industry.
