HC Deb 05 March 1980 vol 980 c243W
Mr. Norman Atkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many acute beds per 1,000 population are now recommended under the new revised hospital strategy for the Haringey district;

(2) if, in view of the social and environmental deprivation in Eastern Haringey, he will recommend an increase in the number of acute beds per 1,000 population under the revised hospital strategy for Haringey district.

Dr. Vaughan

The North-East Thames regional health authority has agreed a guideline of three beds per 1,000 population for the Haringey health district. It is for the health authorities to determine whether any change in this level of provision is required.
