asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the amount paid in estate duties in each county of Wales and in Wales as a whole for the last available year.

Mr. Peter Rees

Capital transfer tax and estate duty paid by residents of Wales in 1978–79 is estimated to have been of the order of £10 million. It is not possible to apportion this figure between the individual counties.
