Housing authorities in Scotland have been reminded about the requirement placed on them by section 3 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 to have regard to the special housing needs of the disabled and have been urged to accord greater priority to these needs in allocating their housing 82W resources. The capital allocations issued recently to local authorities reflected the need to increase the provision of special needs houses.
