§ Mr. HeseltineStanding instructions in my Department provide that when a telephone inquiry is received from a caller seeking privileged information who cannot be satisfactorily identified, the caller is asked to give a telephone number to which a return call can be made. That number is then checked before any information is disclosed. Staff are reminded annually of these instructions. I have no plans to revise the guidelines.
