§ Mr. Eadieasked the Secretary of State for Trade what quantity of glass fibre is being imported from Spain for blowing into lofts; and if he is satisfied that the method of manufacture and shipping is not leading to contamination which can be dangerous for installers and householders.
§ Mr. Parkinson[pursuant to his reply, 23 June 1980, c. 18]: Glass fibre for insulating lofts in dwelling-houses is not separately identified in the Overseas Trade Statistics. I am not aware of any health hazards presented to householders by the importation of glass fibre from Spain. Questions concerning safety at work are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment.
