HC Deb 20 June 1980 vol 986 cc676-7W
Mr. John

MacKay asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what changes have been made to the Scottish Office cash limit for Class XIII Vote 24.

Mr. Younger

Subject to the approval of Parliament, expenditure by the Scottish Office on the purchase of computer equipment, and hence the cash limit for Class XIII Vote 24, will be reduced by £0.52 million. This reduction will provide for :

  1. (a) the transfer to Class XIV Vote 1 of £0.1 million referred to by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment in his written reply yesterday to my hon. Friend, the Member for Reading, North (Mr. Durant), and
  2. (b) a reduction of £0.052 million in respect of equipment which was included in the Vote in the current year but which, in the event, was paid for at the end of 1979–80.
The reduced cash limit for Class XIII Vote 24 will be £61.443 million and a revised Estimate will be presented to reflect the change.
