HC Deb 19 June 1980 vol 986 c618W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many disablement resettlement officers have lost their jobs since May 1979.

Mr. Jim Lester

There was no significant change in the staffing of disablement resettlement officer (DRO) work between May 1979 and 1 April 1980 when a revised system for determining staffing was introduced.

Before 1 April there was a national total of 512 DRO posts.

The implementation of the new system was expected to result in little change in the total number of DRO posts. It now appears that the number may be affected somewhat more than expected and this is being examined.
