§ Mr. Norman Lamont: The Government know of no plans to carry nuclear waste by sea through the Minches. However, as part of the programe for the operation of the, prototype fast reactor (PRF), the UKAEA proposes later this year to commence the movement of plutonium nitrate recovered from PFR fuel from Dounreay to Windscale by road and sea, through the Minches.
