§ Dr. Roger Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, following the increasing availability of evidence that controlling blood sugar levels reduces the incidence and degree of both ophthalmic vascular and neurological complications in those suffering from diabetes, if he will take steps to provide people so afflicted, particularly in the younger age groups, with reliable instruments to measure their own blood sugar levels together with adequate teaching.
