§ Mr. John Browneasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will introduce legislation to ensure that all food which is deep frozen initially and subsequently thawed for sale to the public should be labelled accordingly.
§ Mr. WigginProposals for new food labelling regulations have been issued by my Department for consideration by the interests concerned, and include a requirement that meat, poultry and offal which has been frozen and thawed should be labelled accordingly. This is in line with recommendations of the Food Standards Committee in its recent second report on food labelling.
