§ Mr. Mark CarlisleThe report of the Standing Commission on pay comparability on university technicians was laid before Parliament and published today, as Cmnd. 7974. Copies are available in the VoteOffice. The report recommends new scales to come into effect from 1 April 1980 involving increases averaging about 12 per cent. on current salaries. The negotiating parties agreed in advance to accept the commission's recommendations.
