§ Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will make a statement about the methods of monitoring overseas student entry in 1980–81 and the extent to which numbers, country of origin, financial status and chosen course will be included in the monitoring exercises and the published results.
§ Dr. BoysonStatistics should be available soon after the start of the next academic year to enable a first assessment to be made of the overall effect of the policy of full-cost fees. In the light of this further information will be collected about specific effects in institutions. All the available data will be carefully examined by the Department in consultation with the UGC and the local authority associations.
