HC Deb 22 July 1980 vol 989 c181W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans he has for establishing urban development corporations in Wales or Scotland; and for what reason he has added a new schedule relating to Scotland to the Local Government, Planning and Land (No. 2) Bill.

Mr. King

The Government have no plans for setting up urban development corporations in Wales or Scotland. Part XVI of the Local Government, Planning and Land (No. 2) Bill is, however, enabling legislation and is intended to apply throughout England, Wales and Scotland. The new schedule 26 is the equivalent for Scotland of the new schedule 25 for England and Wales.
