HC Deb 22 July 1980 vol 989 cc626-7W
Mr. Murphy

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will be prepared to make available to the public the surplus plants produced in the Royal parks rather than have them destroyed as at present.

Mr. Monro

No surplus plants are produced in the Royal parks, though some additional plants are grown to cover possible replacements.

The work and accounting arrangements involved in arranging sales to the public would not justify the receipts involved, nor is manpower available for the task.
