HC Deb 22 July 1980 vol 989 cc128-9W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Prime Minister what steps are being taken by Government Departments to investigate the mass illness of 290 people at an open-air junior jazz band contest in Nottinghamshire on Sunday 12 July and the role that organ-ophosphorus compounds may have played in its causation; and if she will ensure that any findings are made public.

The Prime Minister

The incident is being fully investigated by the Ashfield district council in conjunction with other agencies and I understand that the council will shortly be publishing an interim report. I understand that so far no specific cause has been identified. In the meantime, Departments are continuing to keep in close touch with the situation.
