HC Deb 22 July 1980 vol 989 cc208-9W
Mr. Stan Thorne

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he is proposing any changes in regard to area health authorities' administration of the placement of general practitioners, having in view the need to ensure adequate coverage of patient needs in highly populated inner town areas.

Dr. Vaughan

I am well aware of the problems concerning general medical services in inner city areas. They are taken into account by family practitioner committees and the medical practices committee in considering the admission of doctors to National Health Service medical lists.
