§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979 will be brought into force.
§ Mr. MonroSections 48 and 49 of the Act came into force in England and Wales on 16 July 1979. It is intended that the rest of parts I and III should come into force early next year. Part II should follow as soon as possible thereafter.
