§ Mr. Neil MartenWe have pledged a contribution of £850,000 for refugee relief in response to the international appeal by the UN High Commissioner for refugees, a large part of which will be provided as 5,000 tonnes of bilateral food aid. The British share of the food aid and emergency assistance provided to Somalia by the European Community since December 1979 amounts to over £2,200,000.
