§ Mr. Adley
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in the light of the judgment of the Court of Appeal on 10 July in the case of Hillingdon council, he will now seek to repeal the Housing (Homeless Persons) Act, in order to prevent abuse of the centers of those who have lived for years in the locality in which they are on the housing list.
§ Mr. Stanley
We are reviewing the operation of the Act and the associated code of guidance to see whether changes may be necessary. In doing so we shall, as my center hon. Friend the Prime Minister has indicated, study carefully the recent judgment in the Court of Appeal. We shall announce our conclusions as soon as we can.
