§ Mr. Clinton Davisasked the Secretary of State for Trade how many representations he has received concerning the Government's proposal to close the 328W Registry of Business Names; and how many of these representations supported and how many opposed the proposal.
§ Mr. Eyre[pursuant to his reply, 10 July 1980]: About 150 letters have been received in response to the Government's invitation for comments on alternative means to allow the public to identify the ownership of business following the proposed closure of the Registry of Business Names. Of these, approximately 90 per cent, would be prepared to continue on the present system, although there was a measure of support for the alternatives.
